Antique 9ct WW1 Survivors Ring - L

I was told the ring was made for the World War One survivor Lt R G Gibson.

It was told this young man was in charge of around 120 men on the front line of Ypres.

in February 1917 and was badly wounded by German gun fire.

He survived the battle and was then taken for emergency treatment where this amazing fragment was removed.

When Lt Gibson returned home to England his father a wealthy land owner had this ring made for his son.

This was to serve as a constant reminder to how close he had come to loosing his life.

This is such a unique bit of World War One history.
